My research involves understanding the connections between the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system especially via the vagus. This work has led to insights into the etiology, prediction, time course, biomarkers, manifestation, and treatment of depression. We are especially interested in individual differences including gender and ethnic differences in depression.
