My lab studies learning and memory processes, especially those related to spatial navigation. We look at individual differences, including susceptibility to mental disorders such as depression, in relation to cognition and brain functioning. Understanding individual trajectories and relationships to other aspects of brain function could be important for personalized treatments. We are also interested in how similarities in symptoms and brain circuitry could be informative across disorders in relation to cognitive function. My lab also studies how depression changes across the lifespan, in particular during key transitions for women such as pregnancy (including post-partum depression) and menopause, as well as healthy aging and depression related to dementia.
