Biomedical Engineering Solutions to Assess & Treat Depression
My research interests lie in neuroengineering, with an emphasis on the development of neurotechnology solutions to help people with paralysis (spinal cord injury or stroke) regain lost motor and sensory functions. These technologies are primarily based on noninvasive brain signals such as electroencephalograms (EEG), although we have also investigated invasively recorded signals such as electrocorticograms (ECoG). In pursuing these goals, I work in close collaboration with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and physical therapists.
